What is engineering plastic?
Continuous researches resulted in the new era of various plastic products. As a result, plastic products have replaced metal and rubber products with their outstanding functionality, convenience in processing, high economic efficiency, etc. In particular, the plastic developed for the industrial replacement is called as the engineering plastic.
PTFE is an acronym for Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene, and was developed by Du Pont (US) in 1950 by the product name of TeflonⓇ. PTFE is a highly functional engineering plastic with outstanding thermal resistance, chemical resistance and mechanical strength, and is, thus, widely used in the industrial sectors of electronics, chemistry, medical treatment, etc.
Furthermore, when customers require more diverse and special-purpose products, one can compound various fillers (Glass Fiber, Graphite, Carbon, Bronze, Molybdenum, etc.) with pure PTFE to improve the functions.
